While his death record says he was born in Genesee Co., he is listed in the 1855 State Census of Middleburgh as born in "Albany Co., NY".

on April 3, 1873 and is buried in the Middleburgh Cemetery.
E.	Nancy C. Crosby - born 1859 according to the 1870 census.
IV.	Lorana Crosby - born in 1827 as found in the 1860 census of
Middleburgh with her husband, Ransom Barton, age 31, with one child, Channing, age 1, male. They resided a few houses from her brother, Abiel Crosby. By 1870, Lorana was out of the family and Ransom Barton was living in Middleburgh with or married to a younger woman, Amanda Barton age 20, and children, Channing 11, Elizer 6, and Jane 1. Lorana's death is recorded in the Middleburgh Town Clerk's Office. It says "Loresia Barton" died on May 23, 1894 at age 68 years, 6 months, and 20 days, or born on November 3, 1825. She is buried in the Middleburg Cemetery with a headstone that says "Lorana Barton" died on May 23, 1894 and was
