We wish it were possible in each issue of the paper to be able to extend compliments and to say a word of praise of things accomplished throughout Hancock County, particularly in Bay St. Louis . ... At this time there are several projects which have been completed, or are now in process, which deserve comment and commendation . . . First, the well on Leonhard Avenue and A Street has been turned into the mains and the people at the other end of town will now have a splendid supply of water . . A final order has been entered by the Supreme Court in the suit of the Merchants Bank and Trust Company against the City of Bay St. Louis, and the Mayor and Commission Council, dismissing the appeal of the Bank from a judgment rendered against it September 22, 1950, in the Circuit Court of Hancock County. The order of dismissal stated that the^ appellant, Merchants Bank and Trust Company, had failed to prosecute its appeal.
The case was an outgrowth of a loan made by the Bank to the City of Bay St. Louis during a former administration, wherein the resolutions were not properly placed of record in the minute
A Stennis-Colrner day celebration wil be held in Gulfport Thursday, November 1, starting at 10:00 a.m.
This celebration, which will embrace a program to continue on into the night, is being planned by Hancock, Harrison and Jackson Counties to honor Senator John Stennis and Congressman Bill Colmer.
The Hancock County Chamber of Commerce, represented by Howard W. LeTissler, was a member of the planning committee at a meeting held Friday, October 19. At this time. It was announced that Hancock County’s contribution to this affair would be $500.00; Harrison County’s. $3,000.00; and Jackson County’s, $1500.00.
To start the day off Thursday, a parade will be held at 10:00 a. m. through the streets of Gulfport with all bands of the three counties participating; all distinguished guests will ride in this parade.

Mayor Warren J. Carver, and Commissioners Sylvan J. Ladner and J. Cyril Glover, have announced that they have completed securing easements for the pumping of sand on the beach front by the firm of Merritt, Chapman and Scott.
The movement of pipe has started, and the actual pumping from the channel, which is being dredged at the bridge site, will follow. This sand, to be pumped at no coat to the city, will be used to form * sand beach from McDonald's Lane to DeMontluzin Avenue, a distance of approximately 1250 feet, at a width of 200 feet and a depth of approximately four feet.
The Mayor and Commissioners, together with A. H. Gregory, president of the Hancock County Chamber of Commerce, and members of this organization, and members of the Park and Playground Commission of the City ( f Hay St. Louis have made tKia popMble.
