^ STATE HOSPITAL COMMISSION MISIMOM RSUIhEMEHTS TO COBSTITPTS £ STANDARD HOSPITAL (Mississippi Legislature, Regular Session 1956, Senate Dill So. 225, S ection 4) Adopted at a aeetinfe of the casunission, July 10th, 1956.
1.	All hospitals shall have modern and Efi'iciont buildings which are separate and apart froa any other building and operated solely for hospital purposes,
2.	Physicians and surgeoins privileged to practice in the hospital shall
be organized as a definite group or	stall} the *ord "staff" to	include	all	doctors
who	practice in the hospital.	V
5. Membership on the staff shall be restricted to physicians and surgeons who are (a) full graduates of medicine residing in this state, and bsabers of their respective county aedical societies and of the Mississippi State Medical Association}(b) coapetent in their respective fields} and (c) worthy in character and in matters of professional ethics. In this latter coc&ection the practice of the division of fess, un'ier any guise whatever is prohibited.
4.	The staff shall initiate and, with the a :roval of the governing b board of the hospital, adopt rules, regulations, and policies governing the professional vork of the hospital; all doctors shall read and sign the rules and regulations upon election to the staff. These rules, and regulations, and olicies shall specifically provide:
(fit) That staff Meetings b* held at least	once each sonth.
*	(b) That the staff review	and analyze at	the monthly	staff	meeting	their
clinical expediences in the various departaents of the hospital, such as aedicine surgery, obstetrics, and the other specialties; the eilnincal records of p&tient3 free and pay, to be the basis of such review and analysis.
5.	Accurate and coaplete records shall be written for all patitats and filed in an accessible manner in ths hospital - a case record to Include at lease: identification date; complaint} personal and family history} history
of present illness; physical examination; special ;xaainatians, such as consultations, clinical laboratory, X-Ray, and other examinations; provisional or Tvorkini diagnosis; aedical and surgical treatment; gross-pathological findings; alcroc-cop-ic pathological findings when indicated and possible} progress notes; final diagnosis; condition on diaeharge; and, in case of death, autopsy findings when possible to obtain.
6.	Daiagnostic ana therapeutic facilities under coapetent supervision shall be available for the study, diagnosis and treatment of patients, these to include at least (a) clinical laboratory and (b) anai x-ray department.
7.	At least one doctor coapetent in the practice of surgery and one doctor coapetent in the practice of internal aedidne, residing in the town or ► city in which the hospital is located, shall be available at all tiaea.
8.	Competent nursing service shall be available at all times and
the superintendent of nurses shall be a graduats nurse registered in Mississippi
9.	A physician or Registered nurse trained in anesthesia shall administer all anesthetics to patients.
