Application New Members
Section 1. Any person shall have the privilege of presenting an application for election to active membership after the applicant has been a resident of Bay St. Louis one hundred eighty (180) days or more* He shall be ballotted on. If not more than two black balls appear against him, he shall be declared duly elefited.
Section 2, All applications for honorary membership shall be accompanied by an entrance fee of five ($5*00) dollars. Applicants for honorary membership shall not be ballotted on.
Section 3, Applications for active membership must be voted on L.* their order of presentation to the Company as accepted by Secretary If an application is rejected at its first presentation, it can bo presented in new form, but not before a lapse of six months.
Section 4, Applications must lay on the table until the next regul meeting before elegible for vote. At the time of presentation to Company, the Chief shall appoint a committee of three to investigate the character and qualifications of the applicant, and if it finds him acceptable, the member of the Committee approve the $ application, and return it to the Company for ballotting at the next regular meeting. If the committee desires, it may ask for an extension of time for its investigation.
ARTICLE 11:
Duties of Members,
Section 1. It shall be the first duty of all members of this Company to obey all commands of their officers while on duty.
Section 2. It shall be the duty of all members to be prompt at all meetings; at every alarm of fi^re to assemble at the scene of the fire without delay andass ist in getting the apparatus in readiness for operation as soon as poss. le, and place himself at the orders of the Commanding Officer.
Section 3, All firemen shall return with the truck to engine house and shall assist with the replacing of dry hose on the truck and answer to roll call at Fire House. The roll to be called by the Secretary or other officer in charge. Any member failing to answer three (3) successive roll calls after fires without a reasonable excuse submitted at the regular meetings shall be automatically dismissed from the Company. It is the privilege of officer in charge to dismiss any or all members of the Company at fire withou: roll call. It shall be the duty of each member to report any damr.# to clothes at roll call, and damage other thaa. this to clothes will not be honored.
Section 4, Each member of this Company shall pay a monthly due of fifty (50) cents exept Secretary and Treasurer. Any member delinquent three (3) months dues must present reasonable excuse to Finance Committee and Finance Committee to report to Company findings and recommendations. Amount of dues owing must be called out at each regular roll call.
Section 5. No member shall be excused from attending regular or special meetings, except on the grounds of absence from town, sickness or other reasonable excuses.
Section 6, All firemen being empowered by the Commission Council as special policemen during fires, shall report to the Mayor of the City, any person or persons who have in any way damaged any of the fighting apparatus or have violate any City ordinance relative to fares.
Section 7. All firemen shall perform the duties assigned by the Chief, Assistant Chief and Captain, whether it is his regular assignment or a special assignment, to the best of his ability.
