The Mississippi Gulf Coast Council of Garden Clubs proudly presents the Four Seasons Garden Club of Gulfport Standard Rower Show "Plantation Celebrations." This wonderful event will be held at Grasslawn which is located at 720 Beach Blvd. in Gulfport, Mississippi. Grasslawn is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. This home was built in 1836 by cotton planters from the Delta. Well known for its 10-foot wide galleries supported by 2-story box columns. Grasslawn is now owned by the City of Gulfport and operates as a museum. It is beautifully furnished with many antiques. The Beauvoir Belles will grace this lovely setting and Yesteryear Young Dancers will perform.
The Four Seasons Garden Club was founded in 1951 under the sponsorship of Mrs. Lawrence Taylor of the Gulfport Garden Club. Four Seasons is very active in civic affairs, does city planting, helps with the tree ordinance and maintains the Lily Pond at the Harrison County Library. The first President of the Four Seasons Garden Club was Mrs. Cleve Allen Moyse. We are very excited that Mrs. Margaret Moyse will be with us on opening day.
