T addressed this letter to .Mrs. Green, as I didn't know your first name or initials.
I enjoyed speaking to you the other day on the 'phone.
I trust you will be kind enough to remember me if you run across any old L&N Railroad photographs in your family's collection.
Also, if you might know of anyone else in your area who possesses such photographs, I'd like to know their identity.
As I explained, if there are any such photographs in existence, and either you or anyone else woul$3 rather keep them, I can copy them with no trouble, and without..#ny damage to them. It is simply a matter of taking a picture of a picture.
I began my career with L&N as Agent-Operator on Sept. 14, 1959, and worked most of the stations between Mobile and New Orleans, including Bay St. Louis; was promoted to Train Dispatcher on March 16, 1965, the position I still hold. I have researched the history of the New Orleans & Mobile line for many years; actually when I was but a mere 13 or 14 years of age. Quite a few photographs and records have been destroyed over the years due to the frequent hurricanes, but I am still looking.
Mr. J. A. Green was the oldest Agent-Operator on the New Orleans Division for many years. As the line was opened in 1870, there is no doubt there were others older than him, but the oldest Seniority Roster I possess is from 1924, and he was No. 1 on it, his seniority datinpr from February 1, 1879.
A good many records show	that Mr.	Green was	Agent at Bay St. Louis
from December 14, 1880 to August 1, 1932, the date upon which he retired; however, he was not the Agent at Bay St. Louis from April 1, 1891 to August 1, 1893; and from July 22, 1895 to October 22, 1895; and from November 4,	1904	to a	date unknown;
probably shortly thereafter.	Mr. Green was	Agent at Mississippi City
between April 1, 1891 and August 1, 1893; it is unknown in which capacity he served in the latter two absences from Bay St. Louis.
B. W. Pearson, E. J. Younghans, and K. W. Graham were Agents at Bay St. Louis ^during the three absences above, respectively.
Mr. Green rounded out 53 years of service for L&N, and was a much-respected employee.
