100 Vista Terrace Oxon Hill, MD 20745 September 29, 1993 Ms. Meg Hilliker Hancock County Historical Society, Incorporated Post Office Box 312 Bay St. Louis, MS 39520 Dear Ms. Hilliker: This is in response to your recent letter requesting information on the family tree of my great grandfather, Dr. Christian Ludvic Herman Vcn Gohren. I have forwarded your letter with the information you asked to be updated to my two surviving uncles, Donald Walter Delamain and Charles Creswell Delamain, the sons of Amanda Elizabeth (Lizette) Von Gohren Delamain and Ernest Charles Delamain, and brothers to my mother, Caroline (Linotte) Delamain Johnson. My grandmother Lizette was born May 31, 1872, and died September 22, 1935. My great aunt Amanda Von Gohren was born on August 7, 1881. There was also a sister to Lizette and Amanda named Theodora Amanda who was born November 21, 187 4 and died November 21, 1875. My great uncle, Christian Ludwig Herman Von Gohren, Jr., was born September 28, 18 69; his date of death is unknown, but my uncle Donald Walter Delamain told me today that he died in New Orleans. He was married to Octavia Bruiz. Regarding the chart which you provided, please note that in addition to those you have listed as being buried in the crypt or within the enclosure, my mother, Caroline (Linotte) Delamain Johnson is buried in the enclosure next to the crypt. She was born on February 12, 1906, and died on July 18, 1976. My father, Clarence Olaf Johnson, was born on March 31, 1904, and died on July 14, 1991; he is buried in the crypt. I think your records should show that my uncle, Ernest Von Gohren Delamain is also buried in the enclosure (I believe near the North fence); he was born on January 25, 1904, and died on September 22, 1935. My great aunt Paula's name was Adrienne Paula Von Gohren; she was born on May 10, 1871. As you show, she married John Jenks. My mother's cousin Stella Gex was married twice; you have the name of her first husband, and I'm sure that my cousin Jodie Gex can give you the name of her second husband.
