Alfred: J. de'Montluzin, scion of noble family, belonging to the de Sauzay bi'anih of the de Montluzin family in: France, ^passed away on Sunday, February ' 5,	1928, at 5
o?clock a.m., following an illness of comparatiye short duration. He was stricken With tjhe ?flu,? and a victim of ? double (.organic trouble, his store of; resistance soon ebbing away.
He was a native of Luneville,' France, aged 77 years, and came to this country with his parertts, accompanied by j an older brother, Fernand, when yet! a child. His father, Ludovic de Montluzin, with wife and
children, first settled in Sfc James, parish, Lai, .where hie became a member of the faculty of Jefferson College, at Convent, later moving to New Orleans, where the family became weli and' prominently krfown. Later, the elder de Montluzin riioved with his family to 33ay St. Louis in successful quest of better health.
... A chemist, he soon opened a pharmacy, and with his sons, Alfred and Rene, assistants, he conducted this business for many years .and successfully,. At the time of his death the business went to the sons, of which the deceased was a co-partner.
Surviving the subject of this sketch are his brother, Rene; his sister, Mrs. (Dr.?) Hampden Lewis, of Bay St. Louis, and' , the following-named neices ahd nephews: Mrs. Adrienne de Lappe Sporl, of Bay St. Louis; Mrs. Alice de Lappe Doll, of New York; Rene de Montluzin, Jr., of Bay St. Louis; Mrs. Alice de Montluzin Johnson, of Youngstown, Ohio; Albert de Montluzin, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and of Col. The funeral took place Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, Rev. R. E. Grubb, pastor Christ Episcopal church, conducting the ceremony at the house and cemetery. The number of floral offerings were unsual^ and the funeral- noted for its numerous attendance, many friends from away present for the occasion.

?Mr. Alfred,? as he was popularly known, knew no lines. As he was known to one he was known to alL Rich., and poor alike, regardless of ??*eed or color, he pofsessed that blessed attribute that made him friend of all mankind.
Thug, .the passing of one of such sublime character brings more than ordinary sorrow. He is mourned not only by many, but by all. To these :eV6r remain fresh. None can fotfget him.
? His creed, his everyday religion, ?was that- of the Gojden Rule. He lived according to its tenets in the most exemplary manner.
It is'when1 such'men die, when the sand of the hdur glass has passed the given point, and the pulsating heart hps been chilled, we realize in a deeper sense the glory which has crowned thelr-'lives, the eloquence of their, golden deeds and the sublimity of' their life.
