Exchange Club of Hancock Count? annual ‘Fun Rais’n’ auction is Fric

Some 300 items, ranging from practical to exquisite to whimsical, are ready for auction by the Exchange Club of Hancock County tomorrow night at 6:30 at the Hancock County Civic Center.
Proceeds from the second annual event are targeted for the club’s ongoing efforts in the prevention of child abuse. The Exchange Club sponsors The Family Child Center, a Harrison County shelter for victims of abuse coastwide.
Col. Bob Glover will oversee the non-stop “absolute auction,” meaning every item will go before the night draws to a close, according to chairman Jeannie Deen.
If you have always wanted an autographed photo of Robert Redford, or a “Wheel of Fortune” baseball cap autographed by Pat Sajak and Vanna White, this is the place for you.
Other autographed photos of Jay Leno, Ed McMahon and Joan Lunden and a baseball cap autographed by Charlie Gibson of Good, Morning America will go to the highest bidder.
Deen and Exchange Club member Jim Henrie complimented the generosity of local merchants, who provided the bulk of the more than 200 items and 50 restaurant meals and professional services for auction.

Other auction items include original paintings by Jeanne Warner, Jean Hammett, Andrea Loiacano and William Reinhardt Sr. Two tickets to both L. A. Cruise and Southern Elegance
cruise lines and a two night sray in Las Vegas will be oih red.
“We have a better quality of merchandise this year,” said Deen. “There are several pieces of nice jewelry and antique items.”
There is no admission charge for the auction. A
preview of items begins 6:30 with the auction bi ning at 7 p.m. Free drawings will be featuri every 15-30 minutes. F< and beverages will be served.
