Re: Bookter Street 4 or 5 Mr. Coleman, Please call me Angela. I will most certainly contact the Mississippi Vital Records! The Literary Club was in the 1890's...sorry about that. Okay, here is what I know about the family....... Alexander Bookter Married Elizabeth Wicks (no children) after her death he married Emma Louisa Lamb Lorymer who in 1845 came to America from England with her first husband Frederick Alfred Lorymer (no children). Alexander and Emma had two daughters, first Fannie G. (her obituary is in your archives) she did indeed marry William Jesse Weir (his obit is also in your archives) in 1878, their marraige produced Dot, Pearl, Bookter, and Herbert J. for some reason Bookter is not in the obituary. The second daughter Ettie Garnett was bom 1862 and Married George Lovick Mitchell ( a dentist in Bay St. Louis) on May 1, 1893, had 1 son James Lovick who later moved to Shreveport, Louisiana. Ettie died on April 8, 1935 (her obit is also in your archives) Ettie husband George is also an extablished resident, his father James Bright Mitchell bom in Conecuh County Alabama, moved to Bay St Louis after the Civil war. It is said he purchased several hundred acres in Bay St Louis (that is family history, I cannot verify) his wife name was Anna Europa Daniel. Ha, I feel like I sound like the Thomas' english muffin story....tee hee. I also looked at www.usgennet.org which is a Choctaw Indian history website, because supposedly the Mitchell's were descendants somehow (again I cannot verify that) anyway, in the history page about hancock county, it listed Alex Bookter as one of the first families but not James Bright Mitchell. And that Sir is all I know. You have a grea night and will chat with you soon! The marriage records we have were hand copied from the records in the courthouse so we don't have anything further concerning the parents of the bride and groom here. You may want to try the Mississippi Vital Records at Mississippi Vital Records
