Again, this person lead a most colorful, involved and complicated life. The reputed children of this man is reported in great detail on pps. 123/126 of The Ladner Odyssey. Ill KATHERINE FAVRE. On page 749 (Federal lawsuit), it is stated that she was over 10 years of age in 1830; that she died after 1830 "without issue", that is, without having borne children. No further information. IV. LOUIS FAVRE. In recalling the testimony of Alexis Favre in the Federal lawsuit, pps. 748-749, 10/14/1845, Louis was "over 10 years of age" in 1830 and died after 1830. Further, it was stated that Louis left 4 children - MARY, LOUIS, EDWARD and CELESTE, but did not name a wife for Louis. Mobile County Land Record Book Y, p 276, lists the children of Louis Favre as above and names his wife as "Milisew Favre". It states that they are residents of Hancock County Miss.; heirs of Simon Favre; that Louis Favre is dead; the document is dated 9/4/1835. From this we know that Louis died between 1830 and 1835 in Hancock Co., Miss. Their children were: A. MARY "MARINAS" FAVRE appears in the 1850 Hanco census as born 1814, House #140 of her husband, 1EC1 JEAN BAPTISTE NICAISE, s/o 1EC Euphrosine Favre-Lardasse and Charles Nicaise. They were married in a civil ceremony and the marriage later blessed 9/10/1853 (OLG MB 1 p 16 A 60). For many years, it was believed that 1EC1 Jean Baptiste Nicaise was the son of Jean Baptiste "Martial" Nicaise and IB. Louise Baptiste Christian Ladner, but this was in error as proven in The Ladner Odyssey (pps. 36/37, 68/71 & 247/251). He was the son of Charles Nicaise s/o Joseph Nicaise/Jeanne Dufilly and 1EC Euphrosine Favre-Lardasse d/o IE Angelique Ladner-Favre and Jean Baptiste Lardasse. Joseph Nicaise and Jean Baptiste "Martial" Nicaise were brothers.The family tradition tells that Mary "Marinas" Favre is a direct descendants of the Indian Chief Pushmataha but the exact descendancy is unknown.
