4A-THE SEA COAST ECHO—THURSDAY, MAY 2, 1991 "QUOTABLE QUOTES" By Ellis C. Cuevas At 6:30 p.m. tomorrow (Friday), the Exchange Club’s second Annual Auction will be held at the Hancock County Civic Center, Longfellow Road. Proceeds from the auction will be used by the Exchange Club for the club’s efforts in child abuse. The Exchange Club sponsors The Family Child Center, a shelter for abuse victims. There is no admission charge for the auction, and all types of items will be up for auction, such as paintings, meals at local restaurants, original paintings, trips, etc. Jeannie Deen of the Exchange Club reports the auction items are many and of very fine quality. So don’t forget, the auction begins at 6:30 p.m. and will continue for some time Friday night. I hope to see you at the auction. While on the subject of fund raisers, we do not want to forget the Bay St. Louis Rotary Club’s annual dinner fund raiser which is also on Friday. The event will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at Christ Episcopal’s Virginia Hall, Beach Boulevard, Bay St. Louis. The barbecued chicken dinner, and I understand, Rotary members will be the chefs, will include the trimmings. Dinners are for a donation of $5 each. Take-outs are available, and I am hoping many will take advantage of this special bargain. This could be a night when the wives and some husbands, since Rotary now has lady members, can get out of the kitchen and help a worthy cause. Proceeds will be used by tHe Rotary Club for many of the community projects the club participates in. I will be there trying that good barbecued chicken. By the way, tickets are available from members of Rotary, The Sea Coast Echo, or can be purchased at the door.
