DEDICATION
This publication is respectfully dedicated to the Tunica-Biloxi people - past, present, and future.
The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe possesses a rich cultural heritage and a unique history which has been handed down from generation to generation.	We, as the present-day Tunica-Biloxi people,
treasure the historic past of our forefathers, and we recognize the importance of sharing those memorable events with the public as we take you on this historic journey from the tribe 's first European contact in 1541 to the present.
Throughout the history of the Tunica-Biloxi, we will learn of the many hardships they endured and of their determination to preserve their culture and maintain their identity as an Indian nation.	Today, decendants of those courageous people
can look back and appreciate their perseverance which, after many years, resulted in their being recognized as an Indian Nation by the United States.
It is safe to assume that without the strong will of the Tunica-Biloxi people of the past, this unique culture would have been extinguished long ago; therefore resulting in complete extinguishment of present Tunica-Biloxi people, with no hope of a future.
With this in mind, it is only proper to dedicate this book in memory of those .people and their past leaders who have made our presence possible. We pray for the wisdom to follow in their footsteps in paving the way for our followers.
