LITTLE STAR
Twinkle twinkle little star,
Up in the sky so far
Will you shine your little light
For my love and me, to-night
And while we are planning too
Build a cot. beneath the blue
Will you sprinkle stardust bright
On the plans, we make to-night
In the chapel, down the lane
Someday, I will change her name
Will you peep through the window pane
Little star so bright
I hope you will light the way
To my cot at close of day
And you?ll guard it through the night
With your little light so bright
AN AUTUMN JUBILEE
There?s a hustle, and bustle in the woodland and the vale
And far across the meadow, down along the mountain trail
Mother Nature is as busy, as a hive of honey bees
For she?s painting up the woodland for an autumn jubilee
I heard the birds rehearsing, a lovely serenade
I saw the goldenrod in bloom, along the forest glade
It will soon be Indian Summer, and the moon will change her glow
She will make the whole world, mellow just before December?s snow.
I can smell the sweet aroma, from the field of new mown hay I can hear, the cattle, lowing in the pasture o?er the way I can sec the shocks of fodder, and the golden pumpkins, too What happy recollections, these can bring back to you I can hear my mother calling, from the cottage by the hill I can see a row of homemade pies, cooling on the window-sill To me, autumn is a season, with a story to impart For it has a way of playing, on the strings of human hearts
