can assume she died in 1839 or 1840. Turning back to Joyce Jones Seal's “Seal” history, she lists four children bom to William and Elizabeth Lott Seal, HI.:
A.	Charles Seal - also called “Ephraim” on some records. Bom in SC in 1814 with wife Anna (maiden name unknown), and children Henry, John, Bemetta, James B., Eliza J., George, and Celia Seal (1850 Hancock Co. census). He died in Pearl River Co. and is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery west of Picayune with no head marker. He is buried next to his parents and other family members. Of interest, Charles is listed in the 1880 Hancock Co. census, and he states that both of his parents were bom in North Carolina. This identifies his mother, Elizabeth Lott Seal as being bom in North Carolina.
B.	William “Bud” Seal (TV) - bom 1815 in SC based on the 1850 Hancock Co. census. He married Marentha Jarrell (MS Genealogical Exchange, Vol. 23, p.
190). They had: Mary, Ann, Magnolia, William Jr., Louise, Ellen R., Silas, Emily, and Angeline Seal.
C.	Solomon Seal - based on the 1850 Hancock census, he was bom in 1817 in SC with wife Elizabeth and children: William R, George W., Rebecca E., George Solomon “S.G ”, Elisha Robert, Missouri, Mary A., Camellia, and Eliza E. Seal. The marriage of their son, “William Reyly Seal” at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS, on November 27, 1879 to Harriet Virginia Favre, William names his parents as “Solomon Seal and Sarah Allen” (Mar. Bk. 1, p. 134). Solomon died in 1877 and is also buried in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
D.	Amos Seal - bom 1820 in “Miss” according to the 1850 Hancock Co. census. This fits correctly with the above time line when his parents moved from SC to MS. He married Christine Seal, his cousin. She was the daughter of Jacob Seal and Catherine Nicholson. Their children were: William, George D., Daniel B., Mary, Elizabeth, Harriet, Millard F, Cordelia, Margaret, Samuel, and Julia Seal. Amos and wife are buried in unmarked graves in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Anyone researching the Seal name would do well to look into this research by Joyce Jones Seal.
In conclusion, we would like to again thank Mr. John C. Barron for his web site. It has been of great help to us with its information and links to other “Lott” cousins. We couldn't have done it without him.
In case no one noticed, we have not given complete citations for every piece of information, especially census records. The reason simply being, it would have taken longer to complete this history. There is enough information here that any “rookie” genealogist could find the specific source if they make even a half-hearted effort.
If anyone thinks this report is “perfect”, they will be disappointed. This type of research is too complex, and there is little source material for many of these people.
