Rene and Emily were married, the wedding reception was held at the family home, and Verne?s friends in the altar guild decorated the house with ferns and flowers as a gift to her.
It is ironic that Venie?s husband outlived her. She died on May 7, 1956, and was buried in the family tomb in Cedar Rest Cemetery. He joined her there three years later.
