Reverend Morren's withdrawal from] as pastor was accepted, effective October 31, 1959. In his absence, the pulpit was filled by Elders Harold Barber, D.A. McCandliss and Paul Wright of the First Presbyterian Church ofl Gulfport.
A pulpit committee was thereafter formed and, after due deliberations, on Sunday, November 1,
1959,	a memorable one, the Reverend Dr. Edward A. Lindsey became the new Stated Supply minister tol the church. He was a native Mississippian, having] on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Pass A graduate of Presbyterian Theological Louisville, Kentucky, he was married to Jane Stormont, a graduate College, Sherman, Texas.
A get-acquainted reception for the his wife was held on Sunday, November Guests were greeted by representatives of the Women of the Church and received in the Sunday school room. Members of other Protestant churches in the city called throughout the afternoon to welcome the Lindseys to Bay St. Louis.
During the year, the following new members were received into the membership of the church: Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Stevens, Leslie Stevens, Paul Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Monroe, Mr. and Mrs. Kirkland S. Rheams, and Mrs. Edward A. Lindsey.
