Two separate school districts serve the student population providing kindergarten, elementary and secondary education. A number of privately supported nursery schools, kindergartens and parochial schools serve the area as w'ell. Curriculums are as varied as the educational arenas themselves, ranging from college prep course work, advanced courses to the most advance vocational and technical training available. The Bay-Waveland School District is composed of two elementary schools, an existing middle school and another one under construction and a high school. Enrollment is currently more than 2,400. The Hancock County School District has three current elementary schools, a new middle school under construction, as well as an additional elementary school campus and a high school. Enrollment is 3,800. In addition to the fine public school, Hancock County offers an outstanding selection of private and parochial schools. Bay St. Louis is home to the Coast Episcopal Day School for grades kindergarten through sixth, while the secondary counterpart, Coast Episcopal High Schools located across the bay in Pass Christian.
