This was a middle-class fortune. Among the expenses charged for the funeral were several pairs of black gloves, twenty gallons of wine, bottles for the wine, allspice and sugar, and two men and horses to carry the wine and other articles to the funeral, also "a man and horse to notify Isaac Lamed and wife at Sherburne to attend the funeral, and a man and horse to notify John Steams at Billerica to attend the funeral.
John died July 14, 1703 in Watertown, Massachusetts.

John was listed as a member of a church in Sudbury Church on the east side, 1666. He was deacon of the church from 1666 until he died and was always known as "Deacon" Haynes.
He made a will in Sudbury, Massachusetts, October 1, 1692. John's will was probated in Sudbury, Massachusetts, March 29, 1697. John died about 1697 in	Sudbury,	Massachusetts.

John was whipped and sentenced to marry Susanna, having impregnated her out of wedlock while most of the community was off at militia training for the day. Susanna at first refused to marry John as ordered by the court, but after their child was bom she finally consented.
John died November 6, 1695 in Wobum, Massachusetts.

He married Hannah Sawtell in Wobum, Massachusetts, July 13, 1665. Increase died December 14, 1690 in Wobum, Massachusetts, at 49 years of age. In the administration of his estate, it states that he died December 12. This is at odds with the Wobum vital records which say December 14.
