48 7 CHRISTOPHER OSGOOD Christopher Osgood was a resident of Marlborough, northeast of Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. From the register of St. Thomas' Church: "1599 October Xpofer Osgood married to Elizabeth Brock-well the 30th." "Married 1632 April 21 Christopher Osgood and Mary Everatt'.1- "Baptized>1632/3 March 17 Mary daughter of Christopher Osgood." "Buried 1633 April 21 Mary Osgood." "Married 1633 July 28 Christopher Osgood & Margery Fowler." In this short time, Christopher married, had a child, and married again. MARGERY FOWLER was baptized at Marlborough 25 May 1615 and in 24 Mar 1633 Christopher and Margery Osgood sailed from London on the "Mary and John" with the Fowlers and the Rev. James Noyes, and came to Ipswich, Massachusetts and were among the earliest settlers there. Christopher took the oath of allegiance 16 May 1635 and was granted a house lot adjoining that of Philip Fowler. He was a brickmaker by trade. Christopher Osgood died at Ipswich in 1650. His will, dated 19 April 1650 was probated the same year 10 October. In it he left his daughter, Mary, E 10 at her marriage and to the other three, Elizabeth, Deborah and Abigail, E5 also at marriage. The son, Christopher received the house and lands and his wife, Margery, the sole executrix to enjoy the profit and benefit of his estate during the minority of the children. Margery Fowler Osgood was married four times and led an interesting life. (See Fowler Family.) Children of Christopher Osgood: Mary Osgood, daughter of Mary Everatt, baptized at St. Mary's Marlborough, England 17 Mar 1632/3. Married 1 June 1651, John Lovejoy of Andover, Mass. Benjamin Lovejoy, son of Mary and John was a soldier at Pemaquid. John died 7 Nov 1690 and Mary died 15 July 1675.
