ARTICLE III OF THE CONSTITUTION.
ELIGIBILITY AND ADMIB8I0N.
J	Section 1.?Auy woman may be eligible for membership who is of the age of eighteen years, and
who is descended from a man or woman who, with unfailing loyalty, rendered material aid to the cause I of Independence; from a recognized patriot, a soldier or sailor or a civil officer in one of the several I Colonies or States, or of the United Colonies or States ; provided that the applicant be acceptable to theSocidy.
Sec. 2.?Every applicant for membership must be endorsed by at least one member of the National I Society, and her application shall then be submitted to the Registrar-General, who shall report on the | question of eligibility to the General Board of Management, when the question of admission shall be voted j upon by the Board by ballot, aud if a majority of said Board approve such application, the applicant, after payment of the initiation fee, shall be enrolled as a member of the National Society.
!	Art. 8. Sec. 1.?The initiation fee to the National Society shall be one dollar, and	the	anneal
dues two dollars, payable in advance on or before the 22d day of February ia eaoh year.
I	Sec. 2.?The payment of twenty-five dollars at one time shall constitute a life membership	and
exempt the member from further payment of dues.
!	When the applicant derives eligibility of membership by descent from more than one ancestor, and
' it is desired to take advantage thereof, the history of each of said ancestor?s services and the intermediate generations of the pedigree may all be written upon these pages.
