Reuben Smith married Sarah Breland(Mar. 29 1843-????) on Jan.
3 1861. Reuben and Sarah's marriage license is recorded in Book A page 240 at the Hancock County Courthouse, Bay St. Louis MS. Listed as minister is Rev. W. H. Varnado and the bondsman was Jonathan Lee.

Reuben is buried at the old Richmond Smith	place,	where	Burnice
Smith, Richmond's Son now lives.	There is	a	marker there	for
Reuben. It reads;
RHEUBIN SMITH (exact spelling on his stone).

There is no marker for Sarah but the old folks had said she was buried next to Reuben. Sarah's father was Richard Breland, born in South Carolina on Oct. 22 1815. He died in Anna Community on Mar. 8 1890. Sarah's mother was Sarah Fillingane, born in Georgia in 1814. She also died in Anna on June 16 1881. They are both buried in the Breland Cemetary at Anna, which is a few miles north of Leetown.
Reuben first apeared on a Unided States Cencus on Nov. 9 1850. He was listed as a 12 year old male from Miss. He was listed as follows;
