E. John Sinder - born c. 1873 in Indiana F. Susan Sinder - b. December 1874 in Indiana. Susan married Samuel Tilford and had at least one child, Theodore Tilford, who was bom c. 1899 in Indiana. IV. Juliana Sunder - bom in Eppingen on March 14, 1822. No further information. V. Eva Margaretha Sunder - bom March 11, 1823 in Eppingen and died October 11, 1834. VI. Christina Sunder - bom April 30, 1827 in Eppingen. No further information. It should be noted that when the above Sunder families immigrated to America they started using ?Sinder/Sinders" as the spelling of their last name. We were told that the Germans in the early 1800s pronounced ?Sunder? as "Sinder" and that was the phonetic sound that was picked up once in the United States. Also possible is that when the name Sunder is written in longhand, the ?u? with the umlaut (two dots) above it looks very much like Sinder, especially when written in the old German script. Thanks to Susan Fogle Lindberg (her direct line), we have much information on these ?cousins.? Johann ?Conrad? Sunder married a third time on August 24, 1826 in Eppingen, Germany to Magdalena Simon. The marriage record says she was the widow of Johann Georg Gumpel and daughter of deceased Jacob Simon, resident of Muhlbach, Germany (a small village now part of Eppingen) and Eva Caterina Laerin (spelling?). She died on January 30, 1840 at age 50 (1790) in Eppingen. They had: I. Christina Sunder-b. April 30, 1827 in Eppingen, Germany. No further information. II. Susanna Sunder - b. May 20, 1835 in Eppingen and died there on February 24, 1837. While it may seem strange that they named two children the same name, it was relatively common in Germany at that time. Johann ?Stephan? Sunder - father of Johann ?Conrad? Sunder was bom on November 18, 1746, in Eppingen, Germany and died there on September 10, 1778. He was the son of Thomas Sunder and Eva Margarite Menzinger.
