Did you know that the Hancock County Food Pantry has fed 590 people (mostly children) since the organization’s opening on May 19?
The Food Pantry is a very important agency for Hancock County, especially since so many people are without employment.
Foods for the Food Pantry are obtained through food contributions and money donations.
Some 60 volunteers have worked more than 1,000 hours at the Food Pantry.
Many of the area’s churches are participating in helping supply the food pantry in addition to supplying volunteers.
Sunday, Dec. 7 has been designated a “Peanut Butter and Jelly Day” at local churches.
The Food Pantry distributes all types of foods to those in need on a temporary basis, and it is a tremendous asset to our community.
The Food Pantry is located at the Hancock Civil Defense office located in the old Valena C. Jones Complex.

The Hancock County Food Pantry wishes to thank all of the individuals, organizations, churches, and all of the school children and the youth of the churches for the help given to the Food Pantry to feed the needy.
We all wish the people of Hancock County a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.
