When Wlox broadcast their first digital test my tv failed.
I had it working for the next broadcast and saw the potential. In order to help my neighbors I planned a small seminar to explain what digital tv could do for the public. Only four showed up.
I ran into one of them later and found out he was disabled and didn?t have an antenna. I put one up and didn?t accept anything for it.
I put an ad in the penny pincher and the rest is history. About 10% couldn?t pay but that was OK. I put about 300 antennas up over 7 counties.
It didn?t take long to realize there was a problem with the antennas being used. You probably know that the TV broadcasting range consists of VHF and UHF. The truth is there is VHF low, VHF high and UHF.
Approximately 95 per cent of TV stations are running on UHF although it still appears not to have changed with the help of computers. Older Tvs need a box called a converter. WLOX 13 is running on channel 39.
After finding a UHF only antenna on the internet I ordered one and it cost less and performed better. Looking back at my invoices this took me exactly one month.
