Leaders
Charlotte Santa Cruz and Ellis C. Cuevas were honored at a breakfast Thursday sponsored by the Sun Herald and the Journal of South Mississippi Business. Santa Cruz, owner and co-founder of Santa Cruz Insurance Group, was named as one of South Mississippi?s Top 10 Business Leaders Under 40. Cuevas, publisher emeritus of the Sea Coast Echo, was selected as one of South Mississippi?s Outstanding Community Leaders. Governor Haley Barbour and Sun Herald publisher Ricky Matthews handed out the awards. Other Outstanding Community Leaders included H. Gordon Myrick, Jeff Dahl, Shelby Thames, Carlene Alfonso, Rex Kelly, Jerry St. Pe, John Walton, Tim Hinkley and Duncan McKenzie. Also named to South Mississippi?s Top 10 Business Leaders Under 40 were Ray Wesson, Gary Fredericks, Macey Young, John Zollinger, Mary Cracchiolo, Brynn Joachim, David Hardy, George Freeland and Joe Billhimer.
