I.	Johann ?Stephan? Sunder-b. November 18, 1746. He has previously been discussed.
II.	Eva Elisabeth Sunder-b. February 21,1745 and died in Eppingen on May 6, 1745.
Johann Konrad Gebhard - father of Margaretha Gebhard. He was born in 1721 and died in Eppingen on August 29, 1799.
This concludes the ancestors of our Carl Heitzmann. For those interested, many of their lines can be extended further back through microfilm of Eppingen's church records that are in the Latter Day Saints Library in Utah. We have many maps of Germany showing these locations. We also have many photos of the towns that our ancestors came from with their histories. It should be noted that we have photos of our Carl Heitzmann and his wife, Susanna Sunder.
We have the ?Heitzmann Family Coat of Arms? that is very impressive. The only problem is that it is a fake! The Heitzmanns in Germany were much to poor to ever have had a ?Coat of Arms.? The one we have was made up from someone's imagination. The city of Gengenbach does have a Coat of Arms that represents its local government. We will now begin the descendants of these two immigrants in America.
Carl Heitzmann and Susanna ?Anna? Sunder had three children - Jacob (1856), Carl Albert (1858), and Charles W. Heitzmann (1869). While not in order of birth, we will now cover each one:
Carl Albert Heitzmann was bom in New Orleans, LA on November 30, 1858. This record is in Vol. 25, p. 464 of the New Orleans birth records. He was baptized March 15, 1859 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Orleans. The baptism record names his parents and has him born on November 30, 1857, an obvious error. No further information on him, and it is assumed he died as a child.
Charles William Heitzmann was born on May 31, 1869 in Summit, MS as found on his military records that he supplied himself. He died on March 8, 1937 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. His death certificate lists his father as ?John Heitzman? and mother ?unknown.? His year of birth listed was 1870, but we know this is also incorrect. He is buried in the Greenhill Cemetery and has a large headstone with his name on it. Also buried in the plot (Lot 39, Block 117) is his first wife, Frances J. ?Fannie? Withers, his son, Holland Thorpe Heitzmann, and his second wife, Jane Gray. Charles attended Tulane University in New Orleans and graduated on May 3, 1899 with a M.D. and D.V.S. (Doctor of Veterinary Science). He practiced various types of medicine in New Orleans, LA; Jackson, MS; Kansas City, MO; Denver, Co.; New York, NY; and last in Muskogee, OK. Charles spent a number of years in the United States Army Reserve. He enlisted on September 10, 1917 as a Medical Officer and eventually reached the rank of Major in 1934.
Charles W. Heitzmann married first to Frances J. ?Fannie? Withers in Magnolia, MS on July 26, 1891. She died on November 23, 1919 at age 47. By Fannie, Charles had one son, Holland Thorpe Heitzmann. Holland attended Cornell University in New York from 1911 to 1916, and he accidentally drowned in his senior year. With his death, this line of Heitzmanns ended. He is buried in Muskogee, next to his parents.
Charles W. married a second time to Jane Gray on February 7, 1922 in San Antonio, TX.
She died on July 31, 1965 in Pasadena, CA. Jane was previously married to Clarence Thomas and was a widow when she married Charles Heitzmann. By Thomas, Jane had one child, Evelyn Thomas who married Kenneth D. Sanson and lived in South Pasadena, CA. Dr. Charles Heitzmann was her stepfather, and she has given us many records on him to include good photos of Charles, his son
