Mr. Grey calls me to ask me what, my plans .are. ?? I explain I don't have another site and I was hoping to be in the depot-. However, as I couldn?t get any information from the city and based on the following facts: our agreement was never signed,
the library was never listed in the phone book (patrons were very upset about this),
I couldn?t get anyone to respond to my questions, and the lack of a response to my letter of 26 July,
I thought the city might have other plans. Mr. Grey says he will try to talk to the Mayor.
My phone is constantly ringing and rumors abound. There were so many phone calls that I decide I need to know something ASAP.
I call Charles Grey and ask if he?s talked with the Mayor. He suggests I try to call the Mayor. I explain I had written the Mayor but had not received a reply.
I call the Mayor?s office early Monday morning and am told the Mayor is not in. I leave my name and phone number and ask that he call me. About 4:30 PM I once again try to reach the Mayor. I?m told he had someone with him and could he call me back. I said yes. To date the Mayor has not spoken to me.
Al Showers is at City Hall overhears someone talking about the local library getting calls concerning the L. W. Anderson Library. He calls me and schedules an interview with me on the 15th.
Mr. Showers comes to the house and interviews me.
