Dear Charles,
Sorry for the delay in writing. Wanted to thank you for all the time you spent with us during our visit to the History Center. We certainly learned a lot about the area and enjoyed your enthusiasm.
You requested information on anyone that visited or lived in the area during the past. Enclosed are copies of old photos, which I have.
As I mentioned, my daddy’s family was members of St. Matthew Evangelical Church on Carrollton Ave. in New Orleans. They all attended camp and outings at Deilmann Center in Waveland, MS through the years. I enjoyed happy times there myself as a child during the 1940 and 1950’s.
I recently saw these articles in the Houston Chronicle and thought you might like to have them, since they are about a native son.
