The former assistant manager of ;he Bdgewater Gulf Hotel joins a Tortress group that has flown more han 400 bombing missions over strategic German targets in more ;han 30 months of combat in the European war. A unit of the hard litting 15th AAF, his group has played an important role in the effective reduction of Germany’s industrial and military strength, paving the way for the present three-front ground offensives.
Born in Bay St. Louis, Miss., Ser_ geant Fayard, attended St. Stanis. laus and Perkinston Junior College. Hie enlisted in the Air Corps as an aviation cadet in September, 1943, but was transferred to aerial gunnery training when the pilot training program was curtailed. He received his wings at Kingman, Ariz., in August, 1944.
