RENE de MONTLUZIN, JR.
Well known pharmacist died Sunday
?Rene de Montluzin, Jr., owner and operator of L. A. de Montluzin Drugs in Bay St. Louis, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, at Hancock General Hospital following a brief illness. Born Sept. 10, 1910 in New Orleans, he was a third generation pharmacist and the son of pioneer Hancock County residents, the late Rene and Venie Word de Montluzin.

prescription files have been taken to Eckerd Drugs, where customers may go for refills or receive a copy of their prescriptions. The drug store was founded in 1878 by his grandfather and he had hoped to remain open for two more years in order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of service to the Bay St. Louis community.
Services were conducted Monday at Christ Episcopal Church with Rev. Charles Johnson, rector, officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memory Cemetery.
An honor graduate of Loyola School of Pharmacy, New Orleans, he was a member of American Legion Post 139, Masonic Order, Bay-Waveland Yacht Club and Christ Episcopal Church.
He was a charter member on the board of directors of the Bay St. Louis Little Theatre; a former member of the Bay St. Louise-Waveland School board and a past president of Bay St. I,ouis Rotary Club.
de Montluzin is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emily Hosmer de Montluzin and a daughter, Lorraine de Montluzin of Bay St. Louis.
Edmond Fahey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
