•	1818-1898 - Capt. G. W. Miller of Louisville, Ky., a veteran Mississippi steamboat man, who moved here some four months ago, died on the premises of Mr. A. D. Krebs on Saturday night at 10:35 o'clock, aged 80 years. The interment took place the day following in the Catholic Cemetery at Pascagoula, Rev. Father Ten Brink, officiating. Besides several children residing in Louisville, he leaves as son, Norman F. Miller of this place. Capt. "Natural" Miller received his nickname years ago through his river associates, because he persistently insisted that he was a natural pilot. He began life as a boat floater and followed that vocation until late in the fifties when he learned the bells and how to steer steamboats, becoming a full-fledged pilot. He built several small steamboats, the last being the Saline, a very frail craft, but he took her South and made money with her, carrying cotton. DStar, Aug. 5, 1898 Obituary:
