Also upon her passing, many of Mrs. McCutchon's friends, knowing of her interest in the new church which was to be constructed soon, instead of sending flowers, sent contributions to the Memorial Fund which had been established the year before. As a result, the beautiful stained-glass cathedral window behind the altar was dedicated to her memory. The communion table, the Celtic cross and two vases of polished brass which are placed on the communion table when it is not being used as a communion table were donated by the Women of the Church, also in her honor, adding to money that Mrs. McCutchon's father and brother had given in her memory. Mr. and Mrs. Wood, friends of the Women of the Church, donated two burnished brass collection plates to complete the set, and a Bible for the altar was given by the five sisters of the Zimmerman family. All of these items are still in use. Ever flexible, because of a loss of members, the Women of the Church combined its two circles into one again, in October, until such time as new aembers would be available. Further, at the beginning of the year, arrangements had been made to apply for a grant from the Home Missions Board of the Presbytery, and, in due time, a grant of $2,500 was authorized for the erection of a new church and educational building. The Lord even provided a buyer for the old church building, and the Trustees were directed to sell it and place the proceeds in a building fund. However, the sale was contingent upon the congregation being permitted to meet in the old church until such time as the new sanctuary could be completed sufficiently to be occupied. Thereafter, a building committee was appointed, consisting of Colonel P.S. Finn, Mrs. Muriel B. Fisher, Mr. S.K. Kepner, Mr. W.P. McCutchon, Mrs. J.M. Middleton, Mrs. George C. Prewitt, Mr. T.T.
