The city alb stipulated they "for the time being reserve to themselves the right to make and adopt all necessary Rules and By-laws, «and to have the entire control of the Police Regulations thereof.*
The offer was signed by J. B. Nicholson, Mayor, and attested by F. Beiderhoff, Secretary.
Either the new building was acceptable, or the Police Board was worn out refusing offers. Perhaps having a new Board made the difference. In any event, "On motion of Mr. Thomas Hasam, duly seconded, it was ordered that the offer made ... by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Shieldsborough be accepted.■
The Board also ordered that "the building referred to . . . be proclaimed, and it is hereby so proclaimed, the Seat of Justice of Bancock County.
The county offices now occupied their third ■courthouse" _in the 21 months since moving to Shieldsborough.
