"QUOTABLE QUOTES" By FJlis C. Cuevas This is a real busy season for many because of the holidays ahead. On Tuesday night, the annual Community Thanksgiving service will be held 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Main Street, Bay St. Louis. The special services are conducted by the pastors from the area’s church os, and rotates between the different churches. This year the special collectioi i will be taken for the Hancock County Food Pantry. As many of you are aware of, the Food Pantry has been serving more and more families in recent months and supplies can become low very fast. The number of deserving families has doubled according to the volunteers who run the program. We, as a community have many things to be thankful for and I am hoping there will be a large attendance at the special Community Thanksgiving service. Since my office is across the street from the Food Pantry, I can see the good that this very worthwhile program has done for our citizens. I hope all will be as generous as they can in helping the Food Pantry. While on the subject of the Hancock County Food Pantry, I would like to remind folks that today is Food Pantry Sunday, and non-perishable foods and donations will be collected from the area’s churches for the program. As the Thanksgiving and Christmas season is with us, we need to remember our fellow men and help them whenever possible. The Food Pantry is one of those agencies which works throughout the year for deserving families, helping them when they need it the most. It is hoped that the special collection today and the one at the Community Thanksgiving services will both be very successful.
