3ay St. Louis has at least one thing in common with Place des Pyramides in Paris, Prance as well as the market place in Rouen and numerous other cities, towns and villages throughout France! It is a fine caste iron statue of Jeanne d' Arc (Joan of Arc).
Owned by Dorothy and Donald Brown, the likeness of the "saint of soldiers" may be seen in Shieldsboro Square Antique Arcade.
Sculpted as a General with helmet at heel and sword unsheathed, Joan of Arc's stance is one of courage, probably depicting victory for France over the British in the seilge of Orleans in 14-29.
Prior to this battle every soldier participating had received Holy Communibn. Joan gave credit for her brilliant military strategy in this and four other battles to obeying instructions she heard from "voices from Heaven".
