INGHAM S ROBERTS. R E CRAWFORD Roberts & Crawford, ATTORNEYS AT LAW. Houston.Texas. Jesse C. tfagner, Esq., 1 1626 St. Andrews St., New Orleans, La. My dear uncle: I have been doing some private investigating of our claim myself, but Hitchler has sent me only two papers; one a partial inventory of* the bankrupt proceedings in reference to the Texas lands, and the other a deed to a one-eighth interest in eleven leagues on the Trinity River. I wish you would get the followiflg information for me, if the same is of record in New Orleans, a copy (one made by yourself in pencil will be ample ) of the bankruptcy proceedings of your father, G. L. Vagner; also all references in full as to what was done with the Texas lands, and especially the descriptions. ^ I notice a reference sent me by Hitchler taken from the schedule in bankruptcy of "title before James N. Ma^ i, N. ?. 6/2/36, Pg. 265?; this refers to a deed from 0. P. Jackson to your father. There are two other tracts in the deed which were titled before James B. Marks, Notary Public, "February 2 to June 29" (?) 36, see pages 291 and 36 (?). If I could get the deeds for these two other tracts, one is easily located, the league grant known as No. 1; but, I would have to get the transfers prior to my grandfather. If I can find the deeds to him, we can begin to run back and see what Houston, Texas, May 6, 1905.
