The budget is balanced when adopted, and is administered by the Commission Council. Preparation and discussion of the budget continues through the year; it is proposed at one meeting, voted on at the following, on the first week in October.
The money for all town government is appropriated by the Commission Council. The Commission levies all taxes; however, the tax authority is limited by State Law.

Moneys for all government activities are raised by ad valorem taxes, privilege licenses set by state law, building permits and mayor’s court fines.
Total income for the 1949-1950 fiscal year is $207,837.50.
