We regret exceedingly to learn that Pass Christian is not exempt from the fever which has caused so much distress in our community (New Orleans). At the same time it is grateful to know that the sickness is of a mild type, yielding readily to the careful and experienced treatment of Doctors Smith. Jones and New, who are indefatigable in their professional attention to the sick.
College
The College has teen peculiarly fortunate, the salubrity of the Pass preventing any general affection. The Institution has, however, torne its share of suffering, and we are informed that one of the students from Red River is so ill that he is not expected to recover.
Robinson-Janvler families
Cases of fever have appeared throughout the whole length of theJPass.
The little son of !-'r. W. L. Robinson, an interesting toy, we are gl d to learn is out of danger, and we congratulate Mr. H. P. Janvier upon his recovery, and upon the cheerful condition of his family, who have all teen ill tut are now doing veil.
Frost Eypected
We are much encouraged here by a most agreeable change in the weather, tetokening the near approach of frost, and from its excellent and most healthful location we feel assured that our friends of Pass Christian will soon te enjoyitife their vpnted exemption from mortal ills.
Wm. H. King Family
Our earnest sympathies are extended to our chief editor (Vm. H. King), two of the members of whose family, resident at the Pass, have been very seriously ill. It will be a grateful pleasure to their friends to know that the crisis is past, and that no danger is now anticipated.
We sincerely trust that pur friends on the lake shore may be spared the affliction of such suffering as has been our portion for so many weary weeks.
