NOTE: Elisha married a second time to Seanura Kelly, May 20, 1866. NOTE: Elisha was a very laroe man, over 200 lbs., above 6' tall, big muscles. He always went barefooted sunnier and winter. He was noted for his skill with a broad ax and draw knife. He carved out many douqh tray's and wood tubs, ''?hey were very much used durinq his lifetime. Elisha fouqht everyone on the Gulf Coast who wanted to fiqht. He aave everyone an opportunity who wished to try. Always defendinq his title as Champion of South Mississippi. Nathaniel N. Iadner (Flisha, Carlos Iadner) born Jan. 15, 1R4Q, Hancock Co., MS.. He enlisted in the US Army at New Orleans, la., July 1^63 and served with the 1st N.O. Inf. Co. H. until the end of the Civil War. For his service he drew a Federal Pension. His service records show him as beina 5'11" tall, blue eyes, liqht hair and fair complexion. Apr. 23, 1871, Nathaniel married Pusan Debouse. They had one son, Alfred S. Ladner, torn Sept. 20, 1877. Susan died this same year and Nathaniel removed the younq child to DeRidder, La., where Mr. Dan Whiddon and wife cared for the child. On Nov. 6, 1901, Nathaniel married Louisa Ophelia Green, Calcasieu Parish Louisana. They settled in the Dry Creek Coircn.. Nathaniel was skilled in leather craft and made saddles, belts, etc.. They lived about 3 miles from any road and while there were plenty of name in the area, it was not uncorrmon for him to wait and kill a deer near his home. Nathaniel applied for a pension in 1915 and his application list his wife and three children. Alfred S. Iadner b. Sept. 20, 1877 Drewselar Iadner b. Apr. 4, 1903 John J. Ladner b. Mar. 1, 1904 Nathaniel died Apr. 24, 1928 and is buried in the Dry Creek Cemetery, near DePidder, Ia.. Thouoh his wife Ophelia, had suffered a stroke of Paralysis, prier to May 24, 1926.
