University of Southern Mississippi in 1971 with a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice. While in College, 1 married the sweetest girl in the world, Deborah Ann Weidman on December 19, 1970. I shudder to think what my life would have been like without her in it. We married at St. Claire's Catholic Church in Waveland, MS after dating for almost five years.
After we married, we moved to Hattiesburg, MS where I was attending college. After graduation, we rented an apartment in Jackson, MS where I was a police officer and Debbie was a registered nurse at St. Dominic's Hospital. In February 1975,1 took a job with the Mississippi Department of Corrections, and we bought a modest home at 2510 Demaret Dr. in Gulfport, MS. We lived there until we built our home in Bay St. Louis at 702 Third Street. We moved in our new home in September
1980.	Our home was flooded in August 2005 by Hurricane Katrina. We rebuilt the home and moved back in almost a year later. We decided we had to get away from the beach, so we bought a lot in Diamondhead, MS and began building our new home. In November of 2008, we moved into our new home that we occupy today.
While working with the State Department of Corrections, Judge J. Ruble Griffin talked me into running for a one year term as the Circuit Court Clerk of Hancock County. I did and won the position. On January 3, 1983,1 was sworn in for a one year term. Almost at the end of that year, I was offered a job with Hancock Bank. With that, I announced that I was not going to seek re-election and took the job with Hancock Bank on January 13, 1984. I was made the manager of the old branch bank on Beach Boulevard in Bay St. Louis and was soon promoted to vice-president. 1 retired on January 18, 2002 after eighteen years.
While dating Debbie, I was about to be drafted into the army while the Vietnam War was at its peak. She talked me into joining the local Army National Guard Unit which I did on October 2, 1967 and later discharged on October 1, 1973 reaching the rank of Sergeant.
As far as religion, I was born a Catholic, raised a Catholic, and plan to die a Catholic. I could go into much more about my life, but I think I will let that to others. Debbie and I have been blessed with three great children:

2.	Carl Joseph Heitzmann - usually called ?C. J.? was bom in Bay St. Louis, MS on November 24, 1948 and died on February 22, 2007. He is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery next to his wife, Mathilde Marie ?Mi Mi? Monti. They married on August 22, 1969 at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. He was a building contractor most of his adult life and loved to hunt deer. He made Bay St. Louis his home. He was a good brother. Carl and Mi Mi had three sons:

3.	Raymond George Heitzmann - bom on January 8, 1950, in Bay St Louis and is currently living in Diamondhead, MS. He married Loretta M. Manguno in Bay St. Louis on January 14, 1988. She was previously married to Mack Bums and had one daughter, Sherrilyn, by him. Raymond was always considered the ?intelligent?
