Stained Glass Window Suggested As A Fitting Memorial For Katrina McDonald
By Joe Pilet
Katrina McDonald need no eulogy. No formal speech nor written statement in her praise seems appropriate. How fortunate we were to have had for many years her gentle guidance in both civic and church affairsI
What a complex and gifted person Katrina was. How successfully she worked to improve the quality of life for each of us! Wit and wisdom was at her instant command. Her name stands out in records — club minutes — engraved plaques. Her goodness lias touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Because she taught in the Main Street Methodist Church, and faithfully recorded its history, nothing could be more appropriate than installation of a stained glass window placed there in her memory by public subscription.
A small child once gave a description of a stained glass window as follows:
"It is a colored glass picture in a window frame and it shows a
Saint that sparkles where the light comes through."
Such a window would enhance the beauty of the little Carpenter's Gothic church and remind those viewing it that Katrina's light continues to shine through, giving us her blessing.
