ADDENDUM I CAPT. JOHN* CARVER AND ONE LINE OF HIS DESCENDANTS
1. Capt. John* Cakvkk (Capt. Isaac,1 John* Caleb,* John* William* John,* Robtrtl), of Prospect and Searsport, Maine, sea captain and shipbuilder, born in what is now Searsport 10 Nov. 1799, the third child and eldest son of Capt. Isaac1 Carver (vide supra, No. 38, v), died in New York City 10 Nov. 1867 (Nichols Family Record, page 8, described supra, under No. 38, v). He married at Belfast, Maine, 17 Jan. 1826 (Belfast Vital Records), Elizabeth Todd, born at Belfast 22 Dec. 1807 (ib.), died at Searsport 26 Sept. 1875, daughter of Alexander Clark and Olive (Hill) Todd of Prospect. Both Capt. John Carver and his wife are buried in the Village Cemetery at Searsport.

2.	Capt. George Albert? Carver (Capt. John*), of Searsport,
Maine, and of New York City, born 6 Oct. 1836 in that part of Prospect, Maine, which in 1845 was set off to form part of the new town of Searsport, died at Searsport 24 Aug. 1908. He married first, at Searsport, 6 Oct. 1858, Ceua Maria Dow, born at Prospect 30 Nov. 1838, died at Searsport 2 May 1871, daughter of Alexander and Sarah Dow; and secondly, in 1879, Virginia (Eaton) Chase, daughter of James Eaton of Brooklyn, N. Y.
He was a sea captain and shipbuilder of Searsport until 1877, when he moved to New York City and afterwards became a member of the firm of Baker, Carver & Morrell, wholesale merchants and shipowners.

3.	Amos Dow10 Carver (Capt. George Albtri,* Capt. John*), of
New York City and of Searsport, Maine, was bom at Searsport 13 July 1863. He married there, 12 Nov, 1889, Inez Scott Morgan, bom at Lynchburg, Va., 5 Jan, 1871, daughter of James W. and Laura Ford Morgan. After the death of her parents Inez Scott Morgan was brough up at Searsport by Capt. and Mrs. Jonathan Clifford Nickels, and prior to her marriage was known by the name of Nickels.
Amos Dow Carver and his son are now (1934) owners of the firm of Baker, Carver & Morrell, Inc., of New York City, of which Amos Dow Carver's father was a member.

After his graduation at Princeton Mr. Carver was a student at Trinity College, Cambridge Unirpr*ity, England. At the outbreak of the World War he was appointed a special representative at the American Embassy in London, and later wp* private secretary to the American Ambassador, Hoa Waher Hines Page. In 1915 he was secretary to Colonel House, and was with him on his mission to the Allied Ration and to the Central Powers on behalf of President Wilson. In 1917 he was asautant to Bermu-d M. Baruch, of the War Industries Board. -, and on 17 Sept. 1917 be was coounifttaned a lieutenant (junior grade) in the United States ttavtffem and was appointed aide to the Director of Naval IxtetJlgwce. H* was later attached to the U.S.S. Rochester^ jujgn convoy duty, and remained on her a* assistant executingQftcer until the Armistice.
