CHAPTER 3: THE APOGEE
The First Presbyterian Church of Bay St. Louis cooperated with the other Protestant churches of the city to bring the Reverend Lane Adams for a series of inspirational services. They were held February 18,	1963	through	the 22nd. For the two
weeks preceding, as previously noted, cottage prayer meetings were held in the homes of members of the churches participating, and they were held at different times of the day, thus enabling all who desired to attend one or more.
The services themselves were held at the First Baptist Church at 7:30 in the evening with the combined choirs of the churches that were sponsoring the events furnishing the music. In addition, the Reverend Adams held Bible studies each morning at 10:00, the theme for which was "How can I know I am a Christian?" At the conclusion, all agreed that this event had been a spectacular success.
In the meantime, the First Presbyterian Church choir had grown, with many fine voices added to the others that had contributed so much to the services in the past. As reported by the church historian for this year, Mrs. A.E. Voight, "The church was aost fortunate to have Mrs. E.R. [Ingrid] Ling, a new member of the church, take over the duties of organist and choir director during Mrs. Teague's illness. Mrs. Ling plays the organ beautifully and has a very lovely singing voice; she is a regular member of the choir when not acting as organist."
