Entering Joe-Toni, a lazy bayou, it meanders lazily off of Bayou Talla, and is less functional than in years past. It can still be enjoyed by nature-lovers or present-day anglers. At present it exceeds about 200 yards.
The bayou derived its name from the third generation of Shefalo's, brothers Joe and Tonie. Their home was located next to that bayou. The Joe-Tonie was once a navigable waterway. The bayou is still in existence, and is now accessible for small flat-boats or pirogues.
