•	1870 - Vessel Friendship, Official No. 9339 of New Orleans. Vessel purchased by owner from the U. S. Government. There had been many enrollments, 1864, 1865, 1866, 1867, 1869 with alterations at unknown shipyards. Last owner and Master, John Robinson, Pascagoula, Miss. •	1880 - Capt. John Robinson - DIED At his residence near Three Rivers, in Jackson County, Miss., on the 22d ult. At 4 o'clock, Capt. John Robinson, in the 70th year of his age, after a long and painful illness of four months. Capt. Robinson bore his affliction with much patience; but finally had to yield to the iron hand of death. Thus passed away a husband, a father, a good citizen of Jackson County. His funeral was largely attended. Peace to his ashes. Rev. John W. Ferrill, DStar, Mar. 25, 1880.

RUSKIN, Capt. G., Moss Point, Miss.
•	1899 - News has been received here from Vera Cruz, that the brig Estella, Capt. G. Buskin, Master, who cleared some time in January with lumber from W. Denny & Co., was struck by a gale on February 12th somewhere on the Mexican coast and turned bottom up. Four of the crew escaped by taking refugeon the bottom of the vessel and lived for 10 days in this perilous condition upon birds which happened to alight within their reach. The remainder of the crew, inckiding the Captain, were asleep at the time of the accident and perished. Capt. Ruskin's wife and children live in our midst, and have the deep sympathy of the entire community. DStar, Mar. 16, 1899, MP
