He was baptized on June 3, 1754 by the minister from the High and Low Dutch Reformed Church of Schoharie, NY which is only a few miles from Berne, NY, where he was actually born. Berne was called "Beaver Dam" at the time. The minister came from Schoharie because "The Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of the Beaverdam" was not established until 1765. Adam's baptismal record names his parents as "Jacob Weidman and Elisabeth Shulthys." Elizabeth's name was listed not her maiden name as will be explained shortly. Adam is listed in the 1810 census of Berne, NY with 7 people in his household. The old Bible says he died on "July 19, 1829 at age 76 years, three months and nine days." He no doubt died in Berne and was buried in the local cemetery. He was confirmed on June 10, 1771 at the Beaverdam Reformed Church in Berne. He married her around 1777 in Berne based on the age of their first child. Cathrout was born in 1758 in Gallupville, Schoharie Co., NY to Jacob Zimmer and Catherine Barbara Bader. She died on or shortly after the birth of son, Peter A. Weidman who was born on November 10, 1782 in Beaverdam, NY. Adam Weidman, Sr. and Gertrud "Cathrout" Zimmer had the following children: I. Catherine "Caty" Weidman - born on November 19, 1777 as listed in the old Weidman Bible. She married Abraham Warner (son of Philip Warner and Elizabeth Shafer) on January 22, 1797 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schoharie, NY. 48
