The council approved an amended administration ordinance for the city.
Franckiewicz told the councilmen that the mayor/council form of government was not listed in the current ordinance. He said he had made changes to reflect the mayor/-council form as the governing authority of the city.
Other changes in the ordinance include the consolidation of legislative functions of the council and the consolidation of the city's eight departments into four departments, police, fire, public works and administration.
In other business the council appointed Farve as the city clerk and unanimously elected Wilmer Seymour and James Thriffiley as council president and vice-president, respectively.
Councilmen also voted to have the agenda published in The Sea Coast Echo and automatically set public hearings on proposed city ordinances.
The council also rescinded an ordinance approved by the former administration regulating gill and trammel net fishing. The council proposes to discuss the ordinance at the July 16 meeting.
