Biloxi, Miss., August 6, 1901:—
The Biloxi Commercial Club had a meeting August 5, 1901, and showed its faith in the purposes for vhich it vas organized by taking active hold of several business matters that vere presented.
One jsejsb proposition vas the securing of colonists to settle upon the vacant lands on the north side of Back Bay, vhich lands can be purchased very cheaply and vhich are most fertile. One of the objects in trying to settle up these lands is to induce the settlers to grov fruits and vegetable for the several canning factories located in Biloxi.
The Club also took active hold of the movement to have the Mississippi soldiers hold their annual encampment here this month, and this action insures the success of the movement.
