A Lifelong Friend
As I look up at this tree,
I contemplate about how it could be.
I begin to sit and think and ponder.
Oh how my mind begins to wonder.
Once an acorn so small in size,
With the right nurture, it began to rise.
It broke through the ground and saw the light.
And so it began its lifelong fight.
From only having other trees around.
And hearing nothing but silence as sound;
To now being in front of a school of learning,
It will be there when all of us are returning.
It hears the sound of the church bells as they ring,
It hears the noise of the birds as they sing.
It sees the students while they eat outside.
In this tree, the students take much pride.
Not even Mother Nature could stop the tree from growing, Not even with the heavy hurricane winds blowing. Through the hurricanes it has stood strong,
Fighting hard so it could be here for long.
It shows the glory of God and all His might.
